Part Seven - The Institutes of the Christian Religion

What's On This Page:

Preamble:

In this eighth lesson you will continue to consider 'The Knowledge of God the Creator,' which is book one of 'The Institutes of the Christian Religion.' For this lesson you will be required to read chapter 14 of book one. The best approach is to read the chapter first, and then to read it again with the questions before you.

8.1 EVEN IN THE CREATION OF THE UNIVERSE AND OF ALL THINGS, SCRIPTURE BY UNMISTAKABLE MARKS DISTINGUISHES THE TRUE GOD FROM FALSE GODS (Chapter 14).

Questions:

Explain how the world came into being? How did spiritual beings come into being? What is the origin of such beings?

Explain the purpose and role of angels? Are these divine beings? Explain.

Explain how the nature of Satan, as it now is, is different to that of his original nature? Explain the role of Satan in our world? How did Satan come to play this role?

What authority does Satan exercise as 'the god of this world?' How is this role exercised toward believers?

NOTE: If you wish to email me regarding your answers to this lesson, please copy and paste them into an email (Attachments will not be opened). I will then get back to you as soon as I can (expect a delay due to various committments).
