Preamble:
In this fifth lesson you will continue to consider 'The Knowledge of God the Creator,' which is book one of 'The Institutes of the Christian Religion.' For this lesson you will be required to read chapters 10 through 12 of book one. The best approach is to read these chapters first, and then to read them again with the questions before you.
5.1 SCRIPTURE, TO CORRECT ALL SUPERSTITION, HAS SET THE TRUE GOD ALONE OVER AGAINST ALL THE GODS OF THE HEATHEN (Chapter 10)

GENERALLY WHOEVER SETS UP IDOLS REVOLTS AGAINST THE TRUE
GOD (Chapter 11)

How does Scripture reveal knowledge of God? Explain your answer
For what reason do men make and worship images? Why are all images and man-made forms of God prohibited? Are all images forbidden? Explain.
5.2 HOW GOD IS TO BE SO DISTINGUISHED FROM IDOLS THAT PERFECT HONOR MAY BE GIVEN TO HIM ALONE (Chapter 12)
Questions:
Why is it that the worship given to 'saints' is wrong? How does this practice 'lessen' God?
