Preamble:

In this second lesson you will begin to consider 'The Knowledge of God the Creator,' which is book one of 'The Institutes of the Christian Religion.' For this lesson you will be required to read through the first four chapters of book one. The best approach is to read these chapters first, and then to read them again with the questions before you.

Questions:

How does the true knowledge of self bring a person to seek after God? How does man arrive at such knowledge?

2.2 WHAT IT IS TO KNOW GOD, AND TO WHAT PURPOSE THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM TENDS (Chapter 2)

Questions:

What is true knowledge of God? Why have you answered this way?

2.3 THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD HAS BEEN NATURALLY IMPLANTED IN THE MINDS OF MEN (Chapter 3)

Questions:

Why is it, that in every tribe and nation, there exists some form of 'god' worship? How can this be explained?

2.4 THIS KNOWLEDGE IS EITHER SMOTHERED OR CORRUPTED, PARTLY BY IGNORANCE, PARTLY BY MALICE (Chapter 4)

Question:

How can the existence of so many forms of 'god' worship be explained?

How is the existence of God witnessed to in the lives of unbelievers? Please use illustrative examples in your answer if you can.
